Dogs Allowed at Compo Beach Starting October 1

Westport Parks and Recreation announced that dogs are allowed back at Compo Beach beginning October 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. Dogs must be leashed in all areas except the designated off-leash area south of the pavilion and South Beach. Dogs are prohibited from the pavilion, playground, and walkways. Off-leash regulations are posted at the entrance to the off-leash area. Violations of regulations carry a $77 fine. Owners are required by law to pick up after their dogs. Dogs are prohibited from Luciano Park entirely as it comprises only athletic fields and playgrounds.
